… Just kidding.

Yesterday, there were 2 fireworks festivals going on at nearby beaches, so we decided to go to AEON mall, which is kind of near both of them. When we got there it was absolutely jam packed, both around the mall and in the 4 level parking garage above the mall. There was literally no parking. It was to the point where people were inventing parking spaces and/or double parking all over the place, making it even more difficult to look for a spot.
Eventually we found a less crowded area (still full, but not a lot of traffic) and we double parked in front of some empty cars. Our plan was to watch the fireworks from near the car, and we could move out of the way in case we were blocking someone. Before they started, we still had a little bit of time to run into the grocery store and pick up some food from what was left of the incredibly picked over bento selection, and some drinks.
The fireworks display was great, and we could even see the second one off in the distance. You can check out some photos and videos here, or just go here if you want to see the finale.

The crowd on the way back was also incredible. It took quite a while getting out of there. I ended up missing the food stands and all of that stuff, but watching fireworks from the mall parking lot was a fun experience.
I like your pictures, especially composition of the first picture with the beverage in the foreground, overlooking the expanse of cars
Thanks!
Thanks for the vids. That finale looked pretty amazing!
Congrats on getting the apartment. Am I right in assuming it’s just a washer you’re getting (i.e. no dryer)? If so, it’s good you have a nice balcony to hang stuff out. Also, that’s a pretty nice view you have. I’m glad to see that things are coming along for you.
I made the mistake of clicking on the link to your food pictures. I wanted to just reach through the screen and grab some of that delicious food. Urayamashii, yo!
Since the apartment comes with absolutely no appliances, I’m actually renting a fridge, washing machine, etc. I don’t have a lot of room for a drier, so I think I should be able to use the balcony!
I’ll have another write-up soon to summarize getting set up. I think it might be useful to others, because its taken me about twice as long as I had hoped. A lot of that tasty food is from my friend Issei’s mom, Hiromi, so once I move, expect those pictures to be replaced with cup ramen 😉
